St Clement's Church, Oxford

… an evangelical Anglican church with a twist of charisma

Family Centre

Have you ever walked past that large school-like building bounded by Cross Street and Morrell Avenue and wondered what goes on there?.

Well wonder no more! St Clement’s Family Centre (see Finding Us) is there for the community. All sorts of activities go on there from birth to senior citizenship.

The Centre is used virtually every day:

  •  Monday to Friday mornings see 3 to 5 year olds eagerly coming through the doors, keen to spend their mornings in the wonderful magic that is Pre-School.
  • Every Thursday morning sees the Toddler’s Group. This isn’t just open to mums and toddlers, but also to nannies, carers, and grandparents – a great meeting place for little ones to socialise with people their own size.
  • Once a month there is a lunch club for the over 60s, when a good filling two course lunch is served to fifty people.
  • Evenings see various groups both connected and unconnected with the church meeting in the Family Centre.
  • Junior Church for 5-11s on alternate Sunday mornings.

The building has a large wooden floored hall with a stage, which will accommodate 150 people.  The hall is accessed via a ramped entrance to the rear of the building.  A smaller room, comfortably seating 25,  has recently been refurbished and carpeted with a more homely atmosphere.  Car parking is available on site with accessible toilet facilities.  Kitchen facilities are up to catering standard.

Whatever you want to do will be looked at with consideration, because it’s not just the Church’s Family Centre.

Now you know a little bit more about the Family Centre, do come and join in the activities there. Or you may have a group with a need for a base in St Clement’s.
