Mission

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Matthew 28 v18-20a.

St Clement’s has a tradition of supporting mission. It has been our practice to give twenty percent of our donated income to support our mission partners. Mission partners are those with whom we have a regular financial and / or prayer commitment. At the moment we have 16 such partners, about 75% of whom we support financially.

In South America we support a teacher and two linguists. In Africa we support a hospital matron and two workers in a technical school and a nursery. We also support a physiotherapist in Uganda and missionaries working to rehabilitate people in Rwanda and Burundi.

Other partners include those training young people and those who are training for mission for the first time, or retraining for a different mission role.

Apart from financial support, a regular monthly Beyond the Parish prayer meeting prays for our mission partners and other issues concerning worldwide mission activities.
